ARCHETYPE
The Outlaw: For my brand I choose the outlaw because I want the brand itself to show this dirty, sporty, empowerment look while the skincare products (or even the packaging) is more clean, blend en simple. I think this will show contrast really well while still maintaining the wishes of the target audience, who wants to do sports first.
Proces of making: GYMRAT
I started out with making a logo for my own brand. First I tried out different fonts. I didn’t alter anything about these logo’s, but it was nice to find out what kind of fonts I wanted to use for my logo and subtext.

From this sheet I first started out with the fonts Pacifico and Mudstone

Next I tried to make some actual logo’s. I presented three logo’s and got some feedback

From feedback it seemed all these logo’s weren’t good enough. I liked the first on the best. My learning team like the middle one, but it needed more work to fit the brand.
Targetgroup

To make my first BIG complete for the swap, I did some research on the target group. Much deskresearch I didn’t have to do, because I am myself part of this target group. So I did some observations and interviews to get some info in order for my swap. Here I wanted to focus on both men and women, but later I decided to focus exclusively on women.

Colors

For colorresearch I used cooolors.com. I tried some different tones, but i soon saw that I wanted to use ‘cool’ colors. I liked green as it’s a bright but cool tone (also stands for healthy lifestyle) and blue or purple tones. I thought blue was a better fit for the brand, but decided to go with purple as it fitted the green better.
Illustrations

I was really struggling with making illustrations and design patterns for my brand. I tried somethings out to see how it would fit in my guide, but none of it really spoke to me. Later I decided to skip illustration as it didn’t boost my brand.
FIRST BIG
At first I was pretty content with my first BIG. There were some slides where I was really proud of.

Later, as I took another look, there were a lot of design aspects that I didn’t like, and didn’t spoke to me. So I redesign some of my big.
New colors
I decidec on new colors. These colors came from my first research. Before I tried to incorporate red. Although red is a really strong color, the shade of red didn’t fit the ‘cleanness’ of my brand.

Mock-ups
The mock-up idea’s I got from Ava. In her first concept she made some mock-ups with dark glass bottles, just like below. The packaging I transformed to fit the newest version of my brand.

Socials
I wanted to show some more touchpoints through social media posts. These are small designs that state what the brand could look like when combining all of the design elements
